{"id":974,"date":"2022-03-14T11:29:50","date_gmt":"2022-03-14T11:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vespoli.catchdrive.dev\/index.php\/2022\/03\/14\/check-your-straps\/"},"modified":"2022-03-14T11:29:50","modified_gmt":"2022-03-14T11:29:50","slug":"check-your-straps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vespoli-store.catchdrive.dev\/index.php\/2022\/03\/14\/check-your-straps\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel Safely&#8230; Check your Straps!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A FRIENDLY REMINDER NOW THAT WE ARE ALL BACK ON THE ROAD<\/strong> (some after a 2 year hiatus!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Older and frayed straps are not your friend, they should be turned into belts.&nbsp; Inspect them every trip.<\/li><li>Straps used to store boats outside should NOT be used on trailers.&nbsp; UV rays break down the fibers and make them brittle.<\/li><li>Double strap the front racks, buckles on opposite sides (I know some coaches that double all the racks)<\/li><li>New straps are your best (and cheapest) insurance<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/store.vespoli.catchdrive.dev\/9-Tie-Down-Boat-Strap-p109410876\">9&#8242; Tie Down Boat Strap (vespoli.com)<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/store.vespoli.catchdrive.dev\/12-Tie-Down-Boat-Strap-p109410878\">12&#8242; Tie Down Boat Strap (vespoli.com)<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Don\u2019t trust your athletes to inspect your strap conditions, their motivations are different than yours (go home, go out, check Insta, etc)<\/li><li>If you are the driver, the DOT will name you the responsible party if something comes off your trailer. Personally inspect all your straps on the trailer.<\/li><li>Wrap electric tape around loose ends to prevent flapping straps damaging your paint or helping loosen your buckles<\/li><li>Do NOT wrap loose end around the buckle, you will press on the cam and loosen the strap.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Check your trailer straps at every gas stop.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Cushions under boat decks should be taped on before boats are strapped to them.&nbsp; They do get loose and then bye bye boat!<\/li><li>Keep your straps OFF the ground, especially sand.&nbsp; The dirt is like sandpaper on your hull!<\/li><li><strong>You are subjecting your boats to hurricane force winds, keep this in mind when you load everything!<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luckily, no one was injured in the making of this picture!
